1/72 Space Shuttle Help.
Posted by dcp2798 on Wednesday, April 7, 2004 2:15 PM
Hello fellow modelers!

I'm hoping my fellow modeler's can help me out.

I'm restoring my 1/72 revell space shuttle and am missing the wheels and landing gear struts. does anyone have the instructions to the current Revell/Monogram release of the Shuttle?

I need the name and part numbers of the landing gear so I can order then from Revell/Monogram's web site. If somone could fax me the instructions, or post the names and part numbers of the wheels, main landing gear struts and other landing gear parts that would ve great!

:D Happy Modeling, and thanks in advance for the help!

Chris

Chris,
I do. I have the 1986 era and the 2000 or 2001 release kit instructions. I had a problem with one of the parts and Revel replaced it within 5 days. Great response. Email me @ tomcat51@ptd.net with your fax number.

Speaking of the 1/72 shuttle, does anyone perhaps have some detailed drawings (3-views) of the complete setup (Tank and boosters), I would like to scratchbuild them in 1/72.
A while back I had some drawings form some AutoCad or Turbocad tutorial file, but I can't find those bach anywhere on the internet.

If one of you guys have those or similar ones, please contact me.

Thank you...

Dan,
I have the Space Shutlle Operator's handbook. It has 2-D drawings and some others that are great. I have other drawings from USA (no clearance needed). I'll scan them and try to post them here. If not I will leave it on my website for you to browse or copy.

actually why get replacement parts when you can scratchbuild them they would last longer and look better than the stock parts

Ashamed [*^_^*] Sorry Dan, I've been away working on a SRB issue. I will post them shortly. I went on United Space Alliance's website and they have no pictures, drawings, or sketches at all. However, I did get a copy of the layout of the foward Avionics Bay of the SRBs. USA wants me to build a model in approxmately 1/24 scale displaying the interior. Again I apologize for the delay.
