You might try Federation models for teh Aztec Dummies set.  I used them on my NX-01 and they worked without any trouble.

I just bought a decal set from HDA. I'm very impressed with the look of them, but I have not used them yet.

They were fast if that helps.

Thanks for the info.  I went looking for the Aztec Dummy masks and they appear to be out of stock everywhere.  I did find a set from HDAmodelworx.  They are about the same price as the Aztec Dummy ones.  Do you have any experience with the brand or know anything about them?  For the record this kit is 1/537.  

Remember, this is a kit that was made in 1979 and retooled a few times. The first retool added the trench-like rough surface texture. I believe the ST V version added the tiny shuttlecraft.

And you can mask the thing off yourself. It's just an insane amount of work. 

Aztec Dummy sells a set of paint masks to do the aztec pattern. I think they are around $30.

You put down the base color, apply the masks, then add the top coat. I've never used his aztec masks, I have used his other masks and they are a very high quality.

They are available many places on line, I tend to use culttvman.com.

Just make sure you get the masks for the correct scale. their are multiple scales available.
