The space dry dock/repair ship Vulkan's Forge and its current project the special operations ship Kunin are finished and waiting to be transported to Modelpalooza this month.

Neat!!! You're a roll with these Ikar!!! 

The operstions housing is the bottom of the tank and the top became the underside engine section.

The special ops ship was a Renwal U.S. cruiser I stumbled on.  I think it was the Springfield.

     Last time I was in the Sector they were building a new Space-Dock. I think it was called "Aprobias"

The ships still are not named, but I'm waiting until I'm working on the final painting for that.

For a idea of size, the ruler alongside it's hull is 18 inches long.

One of theee might be good for another type ship, a picket ship.  It would be on the outskirts of the main fleet watching for trouble and have enough firepower to delay a enemy until help arrived.  Sort of a space-born AWACS ship but armed.

From the initial description, I'd go with Agnatha (the order of jawless fish including lampreys) and Chondrichthyes (the order of cartiliginious fish that includes sharks).  

For the first contact ship I think of explorers and diplomats- maybe Magellan, Cabot, Lewis & Clark, Sacagaewa etc?

For the engineering ship I think of builders and inventors: Edison, Tesla, Henry Ford, von Braun, Bill Gates.

Maybe something mythical: John Henry or Paul Bunyon?

And those are pretty American, I'm sure someone else could come up with more non-American sort of names.
