That is looking great!  Your weathering is so good which just makes this kit POP!  I didn't know that Revell made a Snowspeeder kit.  Is it the old AMT kit just rekitted under the Revell banner?

Hi guys thanks for your comments. My weathering is in light or dark grey acrylic brush on. I just brush on and when still wet go over with a peice of kitchen roll/paper. EG smear it!

As far as the kit is concerned this and the Bandai are the only two kits I've seen on this subject so don't know who would have produced it before.

First of all PatW, great job on an iconic subject. I loved the snowspeeder when I first saw it in theaters in the 80s. I had the old MPC (now AMT/Ertl) kit. That kit is quite a bit larger, around 1/35 scale.

Tom, Fine Molds did a 1/48 scale snowspeeder in 2009. Bandai did one of their own in 2015 in both 1/48 and 1/144.

The Revell kit is an entirely different kit in their "box scale" that they did for their extensive Star Wars series. Easy to build, sometimes prepainted/decorated, they are very well engineered model kits aimed at kids who were watching the Clone Wars cartoons on TV.

Why everyone skipped 1/72 scale is beyond me. One of the cottage industry companies did a limited run one in this scale.

The Fine Molds kits were supposed to only be available in Japan and I ordered one when it first came out. But the seller shipped me the wrong kit (a Hasegawa VW bus instead). He eventually sent me the correct kit and told me to keep the VW.

I never got around to building the FM kit, but got one of the Bandai kits. The FM kit looks better, but the Bandai kit is very nice.

Detailing is really good, love the battle damage too. Always loved these guys, look super cool. Great paint job and weathering.

Well thanks guys. I don't normally build sci fi/planes etc and my weathering is reasonably new too. So your comments are very well appreciated, I'm chuffed to bits!

One of the best things about science fiction vehicles is that you can rarely be wrong.

It's just as easy to do a factory fresh space ship as a weather worn one.

The snowspeeder is an awesome piece of equipment in the Star Wars universe. Too bad it only existed during the Battle of Hoth. Would have been cool to see them make an appearance during the assault on Starkiller Base in The Force Awakens.
