What, if any, kit parts did you use? It looks Star Wars-ish. Looks awesome, I like the pad.

Thanks Everybody...

I built something like this years 10 ago in 1/72 scale and wanted to redo it in a larger scale. Back then, I used a F-100 fuselage and F-4 engine nacelles. On this one, I used a 1/48 scale F-100 fuselage and 1-32 scale F-14 nacelles. It is original and actually stems from a drawing class I took in high school back in 1980. So I have had this concept bouncing around in my mind for awhile now! I used Tamya acrylics for the paintjob and weathering. I used low tack teflon tape to mask off panels. Unfortunately, or actually fortunately, the tape pulled off some of the paint and left the undercoating exposed. So, I just incorporated that into my weathering and chipped details plan. It is real noticeable around the elevons. All, in all, this had been one enjoyable build. Last but not least, the base is a piece of cardboard with oil stains, lines and numbers done with magic markers.

Thanks again for looking!

You can almost hear the engines winding up. I'm waiting for the pilot to come running over and climb in for a deep space dogfight! Great work!
A day in the Corps is like a day on the farm; every meal is a banquet, every paycheck a fortune, every formation a parade... The Marine Corps is a department of the Navy? Yeah...The Men's Department.

That's fantastic! The imagination, time and skill that went into that project is obvious in the final result. Beautiful.

Thanks again, for the kind words.

As written previously, this project was fun from the start. And once I got into that "zone", everything just fell in place. Now that doesn't happen for me everytime....
I hope we'll be seeing more ships on here in the near future; I can't wait to see the variety of stuff that will come out of others' imagination.

Regards, Dan

Love it boybuddho! Great imagination, great color scheme, panel highlighting, weathering and it has flair! Do you have any you built lately? Love to see more.

Well got mine about done just finishing drawing in the panel lines and tommorow Ill start decalling and finishing the legs. Ive decided to put mine in a diorama as I also have a prototype recon tracked vehicle that Ive been building off and on for 5 or 6 years (that damn builders block) that I will try to incorporate into the scene. Im going to see about borrowing a friends digital camera (gotta get one this year) so I can send some picks along to you guys. I gave up on the cockpit and just painted the inside of the canopy flat black along with the Avionics cover. The biggest headache was the fact that my body is a vacuum hose attachment detail tube and was hard to work with interior wise but the overall effect came out pretty nice I think, but Ill let you guys decide.
