Nicely done. Revell did some very nice models of the final trilogies.
Thanks, PhoenixG. I have a Bandai 1/72 X-Wing up in the closet I'm trying to decide how to finish it. I'll certainly trim off the gun tips on this one too.
OK. In the stash: Way too much to build in one lifetime...
It's a lot of fun to see how you take existing fighter group markings and translate them to the spacecraft of Star Wars.
The scheme you chose seems like a natural for the X-Wing. Also like the inspiration of clipping off the flashback suppressors. My impression, it gives the craft a more aggressive profile.
On the Bench:
Bandai 1/72 Defender Destroid
Much appreciated, Gamera.
Oh wow that's cool! Looks almost like the scheme belongs on the X-Wing!

lurch Fantastic job.
Fantastic job.
Thanks, lurch.
MR TOM SCHRY WOW! Super job on this W-Wing! Really liked how you incorporated that paint scheme into this Sci-fi build. Any plans for more Star Wars vehicles with historical paint schemes? tjs

Not immediately, Tom. I do have a Revell 1/72 Millenium Falcon (it's BIG) and the Bandai 1/144 Millenium Falcon in the stash. I'm waiting to receive an AMT 1/72 Razor Crest that's on pre-order. That one will be big too. After they get built, all I have to do is find space to display them.

The latest to come off the bench: Revell's 1/48-ish X-Wing Fighter. Built completely OOB. The only mod I made was to clip off the tips of the guns to look more convincing. Although the X-Wing is painted to resemble the Mustangs of the 332 Fighter Group, it's still an X-Wing with BB-8 riding shotgun. I guess it could be a Red Squadron X-Wing. The overall color is AK Dark Aluminum with AK White Aluminum highlights. The red and yellow are Tamiya colors. I still need to do a couple of touch-ups and paint the stand, but here it is. I picked this up at Modelpalooza back in October.
