Master Grade Gouf Custom, Weathered

Just an experiment in weathering. This kit was so bland. It came with very few decals (the ones it did come with were crappy stickers and scary dry transfers) So I figured I'd spice it up with some chipping and weathering. Let me know what you think. Constructive comments always welcome!!!

Nice one!  That gatling shield looks super front-heavy!  It looks like Norris is looking for some Feddie Guntanks to kill.

Yeah Bandai stickers are super sucky.  And they are NOT easier to apply than waterslide decals.  Dry transfers are like gambling, but you only get one roll of the dice.  I would love to hear a direct, honest response from Bandai as to why they continue this crummy format.

There are aftermarket waterslide decals for Gundam type kits, in multiple colors.

That is so awesome looking.  I don't know a lot about this genre of modeling but this thing looks so "menacing "!  I'm thinking that I've got to look into these kits now. Thanks for making me aware of how cool these models can be.

Hello JLKahn!

The figure looks very good, the thing you did to the armor really work. Now the weapon in contrast looks not so good - it needs some colour variation and shading. Probably something like this:

Yeah, I kinda rushed getting the gun together. I'm probably going to go back and rew-eather it with some more grime and rust.

Great job! Love the mech but as the guys said the cannon could use a little more wear and tear.

BTW: Dry transfers can be applied to clear decal sheets and then applied as decals. I'm not a big fan of the transfers since once they're down they're down- applied to decal sheet you can still move them around till they set.
