1:32 FLYING SUB
Posted by Jim Kirk on Saturday, April 22, 2023 8:05 AM
A personal 1:32 Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea FLYING SUB build.
I had started this some time ago, and realized I never posted photos of it.
Air brushed to reflect the filming miniature.I used Tamiya and Model Master paints. The model was shaded per the filming miniature.
The landing gear hatches were filled in and sanded smooth. As well as that horrible hatch under the viewport.
I cast a set of rear engine nozzles to reflect the Filming miniature and replaced the kit supplied parts with them.
Paragrafx Photo etch and decals were used throughout.

Outstanding work, especially the interior.  One of my favorite "vehicles" from television or the movies.  My older brother built the old Aurora/Monogram kit when we were kids.  I'd still like to get one of these kits someday.  Well done Jim!

Amazing! Looks like a TV set for the show. That thing nust be very large in 1/32.

Impressive doesn't begin to describe this build!

As a child this was one of my very favorite kits. The bright yellow parts and metallic blue interior parts were awesome.

How big is this thing in 1/32 scale? I'd imagine as big as a trashcan lid, but that's just a guess.
