Sure...right after I build my full-size Markalite Wink [;)] I tell my wife that I'll build it in our backyard and that "We'll charge to see it; it's a natural tourist attraction"... but she doesn't get it...

I was thinking last night that if I ever finish this, then get around to building up my HO scale Wave styrene Maser kit, and include that little candy toy Maser, I'd have the makings for one heck of a forced-perspective diorama!

Maser Cannon vs Godzilla

Since there is more interest in Godzilla related modeling than I thought on this board, I thought I might share a pic of my latest project. It's a 1:48 scale scratchbuild of the legendary Type 66 Maser Cannon from the Toho Godzilla/monster films. In the below picture, I included the little Maser toy from the recent Bandai Toho Mecha candy toy line just to give you an idea of the size. It's mostly scratchbuild, and I cast the wheels in resin. Fortunately I was able to find a tank model to provide the tread and wheel assembly for the towing vehicle (but haven't assembled that part yet). Also, it turns out that the capsule from the Bandai Gashapaon/High Grade candy toys is the perfect size for the cannon's dome-like structure...
