For those of you who got the NX-01 from Polar Lights and are awaiting
for some pics of the new 1/350 Refit, here are some pics of the prototype so you can get a feel for the size.

Thanks for the find, Old Mac! I bypassed the 1:350 Polar Lights to wait in eager anticipation of the 1:350 1701-refit. But if I ever find an NX at a decent price...I'll get it. Anybody know where I can find a decent priced NX?

Pretty darn cool. Think of all the kitbashing possibilities! Shock [:O]

On the workbench: Dragon 1/350 scale Ticonderoga class USS BunkerHill 1/720 scale Italeri USS Harry S. Truman 1/72 scale Encore Yak-6

The 71st Tactical Fighter Squadron the only Squadron to get an Air to Air kill and an Air to Ground kill in the same week with only a F-15 http://photobucket.com/albums/v332/Mikeym_us/

All I can suggest is to search out the online hobby shops. Most are pretty close
in price.

I didn't buy the NX, I'm holding out for a Refit and two more ships. A reliant and a K'tinga in 1/350 scale. This is just about all the room I can spare when I place these with my Tamiya 1/350 battleships. Here's hoping that Polar LIghts has a good long run on this scale. I can think of at least 8 other ships they should do.

For the TOS fans
1) The Original Enterprise
2) A TOS Romulan
3) TOS Klingon D-7

For the Refit era fans
3) A Bird of Prey - I think it's look cool with it's landing feet for a display.
4) Reliant
5) K'tinga

For the DS9 fans
6) Defiant
7) Runabout with an optional weapons pod
8) Jem Hadar attack ship

The aftermarket is sure to add many additional extra's over time such as interiors to shuttle bays, lighting kits, more detailed decals, etc. Buy your kits but hold them for a while before building to take advantage of these extras.

LOTS more pics of the full size mockup:

Note that all parts are opaque on the mockup. Yes, there will be lots of clear parts.

Looks like they're taking the same approach with the nacelles as Ertl did. I was really hoping the nacelles would have lighting capability without having to cut out the sides.

No no, don't worry. That's strictly a checkout mockup using only opaque plastic. Thomas assures us there will be lotsa clear parts just like the NX-01 kit. If you look at some of the technical drawings in the background of those shots, you can see the cross-section plan for the clear engine grills.
