Sadly the Ranger has sustained heavy damage. A friend of my wife's picked it up and broke off a bussard collector. Then, last week, my middle daughter bumped it to the floor. Serious repairs needed! And very little time lately to do anything. Arghh!!!

I'll have to look into that, thanks. I also need a disc/belt sander. I think I'm going to draw out the next ship on my dad's parallel drafting set-up. Keep all the lines precise.

Hey Steven You might try out the one from Olfa. They make a better blade than do most of the others. I have the super small rotary cutter from them and it has out lasted some of the others I've used. I've also switched to using the #11 from them it stays sharp longer and the tips don't break as easily. The Xacto brand blades seem to be poorer quality than in the past. My 2 cents [2c]

Yes did Woody, thanks. Don't know why some mail won't go thru and others go into bulk folder. Strange. Decided to list the Odin on rhe SM Trading Post for a not too greedy price. Thanks again.

As for the Kzinti, I'm thinking of getting one of those Fiskars rotary cutters for more accurate cuts.

A Kzinti would be very cool as would a Gorn cruiser. I don't know if you got the email I sent you. I sent it three times and it was returned as undeliverable each time. I finally sent it via-Starship Modelers email function. Did that one get through?

Thanks Woody. Sadly I traded the big Lyran away and will never see it again. Sad [:(]

I've been using Bondo spot putty, which is cheap and behaves much the same as Squadron green. I also used Tamiya 2-part epoxy putty on the Ranger, for the curved bit at the warp engine "pylons". Thinking ahead toward a possible next project of maybe the Kzinti, I might try your concoction of styrene and MEK.

Your proportions are spot on ,Steve. Your's is one of my favorite projects to follow. I also loved your Lyran, still have it? By the way what putty do you like?

Thanks, Dan. Haven't had time or energy to work on it lately. Several requests have been made to make it into a kit, but no time for that either. Plus its an ADB copyrighted design. I'll post more pics when I can.

I based it on the SFB mini coming out at 1/1000th scale. Personally I think it works better at 1400th. In any event its big enough to work on comfortably without being too big for a normal sized shelf.

Woody, I still think the group build is a good idea. Maybe make it scratches and kitbashes(conversions). And if I had the time I'd make you a Ranger!
