Great job! I didn't even hear of SMT until it was too late, so if I want a decent Y-wing, I'll have to scratchbuild it.

If ANYTHING has a chance to break through the really thick wall keeping sci-fi kits out of the printed pages of FSM, it's Tony's work.

I'll believe that when I see it. Grumpy [|(]
Here we are, a week from another Wonderfest and FSM hasn't even acknowledged that WF even exists. Sigh [sigh]

Thanks Jimi.

I actually entered it in an IPMS model contest a few weekends ago along with it's sidekick TIE Fighter diorama and got 4 first place awards for it. My Ties came in second.

In the next link you can see more pictures of it. I brought it to my IPMS model club meeting for show an tell.

Great work, Tony! I'm so jealous. I wanted one of the SMT Y-Wings, but was too late. You made them look great!

It took me close to 5 months to do. What took the longest was trying to make those darn tiles. I'm no master caster and I dread molding and casting stuff.

That is simply awesome! I agree with Rick, more pictures would be great.

Hello everyone, I had a request over at the Starshipmodeler boards to show you my latest Star Wars Diorama. I hope everyone likes it.

The Y-Wings are from Scale Modeling Technologies, and I managed to obtain 2 Y-Wing kits before SMT was ordered to stop selling Star Wars stuff by Lucasfilm.

The Deathstar surface is cast out of resin from scratchbuilt styrene masters based on drawings found in 'The Star Wars Sketchbook'.
