Nice job Jimmy
I built that TIE fighter about 20+ years ago when I was about 14 and let me tell you, mine didn't look anything like that. I don't remember about the fit what I do remember is that I painted the whole thing flat black.
Trevor Where am I going and why am I in this handbasket?

It seems Obi-Wan has taught you well Jimmy...

my father said I could reply to this myself

thank you for your comments

it was quite a pain when the pieces didn't match up Banged Head [banghead]

actually i built and painted it a few years ago
but after I learned a little more about weathering and finishing I decided to improve it about 3 months ago
it also was a pain to find the exact paint after i threw away the containers

thanks again for the nice comments

Jimmy

I have this same kit and it's a bear. He really did an excellent job putting it together and filling seams. Excellent weathering job. Great build!! Keep up the good work.

Great looking TIE! I can visualize it screaming down the Death Star trench picking off hapless Y-Wings. Very nice, thank you for showing us.Cool [8D]

Tie Fighter - Finished pics - Thank you
Posted by Build22 on Tuesday, May 18, 2004 8:57 PM
Here are some pics of a kit recently completed by my son, Jimmy

This is AMT/Ertyl Tie fighter - no scale labeled

He assembled, painted and weathered the kit himself. I showed him what to do and was only called in as an advisor when things didn't quite go well.

He had a terrible time with the fit on many peices. Many were out of line and lots of gaps. There was a lot of white glue used to fill the voids.

He also won first place in his junior category at NorEastCon

Here's the pics
