Dec. 1st deadline (not carved in stone). Plenty of time and no pressure Dan.

Thanks Supersnooper for the kind comments and welcome ( that 1/32 scale F-14 was bought 20 years ago! )
I am currently working on the Terran fighters' enemy equivalent and this one will be 110% scratchbuilt. Now, I wish I was brave enought to join the ST build....hmmmmmmm

Regards, Dan

I'm sorry I haven't been here as much as I'd like and I've been working less on that group build due to work , but I'm still chugging away at it and I'll finish it no matter what it takes . I'm also suposed to be working on movie props but haven't even had time for that , seriously thinking about finding a less time demanding job Big Smile [:D] Anyway Welcome all you new comers to our happy lil family .

Is the Sci Fi forum growing?
I am Supersnooper, new member, AKA Riƶ<*> on another web site. I am reporting for duty here as a new member, glad to be here!!!
I would like to thank Woody for his invitation to the group build in regards to Star Trek.
I also would like to thank Dan, the maker of the awesome Terran fighter, who relighted my interest on kitbashing space fighters. As a matter of fact, I am in the process of kitbashing a fighter similar to the Terran fighter in a smaller scale. Your fighter is sweet and deserves to be "updated" since I don't want to copycat it :P . Of course, it is going to be made on a smaller scale since getting a 1/32 Tomcat is out of the reach of my wallet (I need to get a new digital camera). I did purchase a 1/48 Monogram Tomcat which will be kitbashed with a 1/72 scale F-100, or F-102, or F-105...you get the point. Thanks for the inspiration, Dan :)

Ladies and Gents, I am glad to be here and being part of this group. By the way, anyone interested in a "Babylon 5 Starfury" group build? I have some kitbashing to do on those plain space fighters.

Woody, I agree I see more action lately. I think it may be linked to the new kits that are coming out. I see our ST Scratch GB is doing great. For me I build SciFi in order to dream of what can be and not be limited to what is. I guess I've been an engineer too long and I'm always trying to see ahead and answer the question "why not"?

But I'm all for this new level of activity. Can we keep this up?

I have used photobucket and my personal webpages to bring some of my work out but maybe we should have a "Forum Choice" like the mags Reader's choice secition. Question [?] What do ya think?

Sci-Fi stuff was really scarece for a while too. There wasn't much "to" talk about. But now with Fine Molds, Bandai, and Polar Lights, etc... there is more and more current stuff available. Let's hope the trend continues.

Open yourself a free Photobucket account , upload your pics to online album and link to to those. There is a thread somewhere here about posting pics too.

I am a relative newcomer, but I think this is great, I really enjoy this forum more than the others. I think it is partially because unlike 'Armor' or 'Ships', there are movies, shows, stories behind this aspect of modeling, so we have a lot more to talk about. The ships and craft we make were designed for entertainment value, not for war or functionality. I enjoy the threads about the shows, etc.

One thing I wish we did more of, is share our work. Ships, Armor, Aircraft and Dioramas have frequent posts showcasing their work, which I think is lacking in this forum. With the exception of those Awesome Tie fighter pics, pickings are slim over here.

Maybe a post telling people any easy way to post pics? I am still a bit confused by the whole process. All I can do it post links to StarshipModeler.com to see my stuff! Unsat!

Is it just me or does the Sci-Fi forum seem to be taking off lately? I used to check in and it seemed like days passed with very little activity.
