Also check out the Trading Post on StarshipModeler.com. The postings are listed by subject, and I think I remember seeing an Oberth for sale a few months back.

The site is great for getting older kits. I tracked down a Cylon Base Star in Arizona, a ST:TMP Klingon Battle Cruiser, and both Monogram Buck Rogers kits from 1979 (the Starfigther and the Draconian Marauder), along with a ton of older Star Wars kits and some Star Blazers/Space Battleship Yamato stuff.

You are in luck, looks like Starcraft just put out a 1:1400 kit. Here is the site:
http://www.federationmodels.com
Go to "Model Kits," then to "StarcraftModels" and scroll all the way to the bottom. Its an Oberth and a Oberth Variant. I got some great links here with colors and whatnot. Good luck.

ilikespagetti, I got it at Sci Fi spaceship miniatures. They went out of business not too long ago.

I tried scanning them all, but the cover photo is the only one that came out good:

The two other pages may have been useful to you, but didn't turn out well. Colors are still up in the air.

Woody, the pics you sent will help out. Especially the first one. But if either you or Steve could show me the pics from the FSM mag, it would be icing.

Ah yes the USS Siren in the Feb. of 1995 issue. Boy did they put some cool sci-fi stuff in the rag back then or what? I'll just grab it and read it here. Article is about foam filling vac kits and doesn't mention paint colors. Looks like its painted overall Gull Grey maybe a little lightened with the top of the saucer and primary hull panels maybe Euro Gray? Neutral Gray for some of the details perhaps. I have pics of the Oberth studio model from the movie and it looked white or maybe slightly grey. Most of the article in FSM is B/W and the beauty shots looked like thet have tint in the light to give that outer space feel. Did the pics I sent you help any?

Oberth Class color scheme

Hey all!
I've updated my USS Grissom site at http://www.goobear.com/Grissom.html
But I have a question for the forum. What is the color scheme for the Oberth class vessels? So far, I've used white, black and light ghost gray. Anyone know of a difinative website for painting the Grissom? Thanks in advance...
