I have only been to one con in Kentucky. It was called River Con, a sci fi writes convention but they no longer have it. It was replaced by some other con. Anyways wish I could come but it is out of my "con budget" for this year. This weekend I have Chattacon, in may i have Liberty Con, this summer I have Sci Fi Summer in Atlanta (i heard it sucked last year though), and AWA (Anime Weekend Atlanta) in September.  How many cons do you guys do a year?

Six of us are going to pile into the van and drive 18 hours from Colorado Springs. Can you say "road trip"? Last year was my first and certainly won't be my last! The dealers room was amazing and the quality of the contest entries were incredible. I also got to sit in on a couple of demos and learned a ton. Time to start stocking up on Red Bull and Vivarine!!!

My New Year's resolution is not to whine about how Finescale Modeler won't be there again this year

(p.s. that doesn't count).

You wanted one too ( the Motoko Kusanagi)? I stood at the booth for 15 minutes trying to get somebody to sell me one and never got a person to even look at me. So I left figuring I could get one some other time. Now I too am looking for one.

My son Chris (Cougar184 or The Major-eh) will be attending our 5th straight WF.  We already have our hotel reservations made and we will be flying this year, a first for us.  I used up some FFM, so this will make it a new experience.  It will certainly change what we bring with and what we come home with...

By the way don't wait too long to get your hotel reservations. They upgraded me to a suite for reg room rate but you have to ask.

I'll be driving some 1100 miles to get there.

Yes, I'll have some friends but if Dan eats any cabbage that's not a necessarily a good thing.

You might have to travel alone but you won't be once you arrive! Wonderfest is a very fun, friendly show.

I'd also like to officially start the rumor that FSM may be in attendance.

So bring your best and be on good behavior.

Actually, I just found out that those dates conflict with the slightly varying end-of-school dates that my parents (the teachers) have.  If WF was just a week later, I would be there.  But alas, since I couple  WF with a visit with the family, I have to coordinate with the dates they get out of school.

Bummer.

Plus, even tho I can't make it, The Unofficial Ugly Shirt Friday Event will go on with out me!  Just proves that no one person is too important for good times to continue on.  Thumbs Up [tup] Big Smile [:D]

Wonderfest as opposed to the Japanese Wonder Festival (which I would also love to attend).

Yes.

Definately.

Working on a project for it right now.

It is my sincerest hope that I will someday make the pilgrimage from Connecticut to Kentucky for the event. I may have to wait until my kids are older.

J-hulk, this event is much more oriented to what builders have made (it's actually a contest) than what manufacturers have to offer.
