I would be up for scratchbuilt land 1st, something Bolo-esque mayhaps? Second would be land kit (I have sooooo many), of course the scratch-built freighter idea sounds neat also.

Forgot to add legalization of kit bashing as part of the scratchbuild Big Smile [:D]

I love scratchbuilds myself and would participate in any type of sci-fi Scratchbuild project, just sorry I missed the starfighters, although I do have this one....

Well, I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to participate on this one, but if I were, my preferences would be
1 scratchbuild (including kit-parts)
2 space
3 september
4 end of the year

I guess we have enough people interested in a vote on this one so here goes.
1: scratchbuilt, kit, or a little of both.Tongue [:P]
2: water, land or space (or air if you will)
3: date everyone wants to start it, it should be a later date as a few of us are already in other group builds (about 4 myself) and need some breathing room.
4: date everyone wants to be finished by, I would say a minimum of 3 months at least myself.
If anyone can think of something I need to add feel free to say something and let us know.

For those who don't know, I didn't have anything to do with its creation (unfortunately). It was a group entry at this years Wonderfest. The pic (and many more including a video clip) is from Starship Modeler. http://www.starshipmodeler.com/events/wfest2k4.htm
Woody,
I have yet to make it to Wonderfest or any of the other big Sci-Fi contests. The Gathering here in UT gets a pretty good assortment of Sci-Fi related stuff and I will be at the Nats this year and hoping to add something to that contest.
One of these days, I will be able to afford to travel back east and attend (or at least make Imagination in Vegas).

That station is wayyyyyyyyyyyyy......COOL !Tongue [:P]
The thing I liked about that display was all the awesome Starships docked and "flying" around it. Did you see the animated series freighter docked at the station? So many neat models to take in.Cool [8D]

How about a space-city, a larger version of what you, earthlings would call a space station ?

Oh, I remember the pleasure-docks at Sirius 6 and ofcourse the colonnies at HJHGFGS.

How 'bout a ship/vessel made from a household or food container. Or maybe combine it with a freighter build. Just a thought. I like the ground vehicle idea too.

I like the ground vehicle idea myself. I am thinking a hover tank like those in Hammer's Slammers (now there is a movie waiting to be made). I have seen the garage attempts out there but still want to try my hand at one.

I liked the idea someone had (Woody I think) about picking a model like the Huey and bash it into a dropship. It got me thinking of some wild designs. And who knows it might draw some of those "other" modelers over to the dark side.Evil [}:)]

I like the idea of another scratchbuilding project, especially one that doesn't involve the usual movie and TV subjects. A few ideas for themes

Starliners and tramp freighters: Commerical transport between the stars.

Pulp Fiction: Model something based on an old (1950's or older) science fiction pulp cover. Even if you don't have one in your possession, there are numerous places on the web where you can see them, like http://www.frankwu.com/paul1.html

Anything but Trek: Self explanatory.

Anyway, just a few ideas

So fella's looks like most everyone's getting there starfighter's done so what are we gonna do next for a group build? What I would like to see is people from other forums giving sci fi a chance and building something, theres nothing like a little variety. Tongue [:P]
