The Horizon kit is very nice. I would then scratch detail the tops of the legs. I believe there was a Fine Scale Modeler article on doing just that many moons ago.

I'm sure the squealing ED-209 was for "comic relief."

Horizon's big kit was all vinyl, not resin, Reggie. There was a smaller resin kit from another company, but I can't quite remember who it was...Argonauts? Yeah, I think it was Argonauts. Pretty pricey, as I recall. Over $100 USD back when it was released over a decade ago.
I think the Horizon vinyl kits can still be found from time to time, reasonably priced. E-Bay would be a good place to start.

I was thinking of scratchbuilding a model of ED209 and started watching robocop for the first time in like 6 years and for the longest time i thought ED was a big tough robot until he fell down the stairs and started squealing like a pig. Now for having such a deep voice earlier in the movie why did they choose this for an Ed209 sound effect? But aside from that if anyone can hook me up with reference photo sites that'd be great.
