Summer slow down?

Looks like the Sci-Fi forum is barely ticking along. Is everybody busy with summer activities?

Wow, Woody........Scratchbuilt already! You're a postin' fool!!Smile [:)]
Actually I've been really busy, and tired, from work the past few weeks. I did manage to do more on the Ranger this last weekend. Also, should have pics back tomorrow of my primed carrier, engines attached. Took a comparison pic with a 2500th Saber class next to for size.

I still don't like NOT being able to see whether there are any new posts in the GB without having to go to that area. Wish they could at least show us here if there are. Oh well. How's your project coming along, Woody? Any progress pics?

I hear what your saying about work. The bread and butter of where I work is home exterior products (Siding, storm doors & windows, columns, and shutters) and summer time is when we sell the most. When I get home I just want to zone out and the fact that I'm without a dedicated model building space isn't helping.
I did manage to start painting my starfighter project and I've started cutting pieces of my Baton Rouge out of styrene sheet but nothing worthy of pics on that front.

I've been concidering reposting the ST scratchbuild back in the Sci-Fi forum. Ever since they moved it it's been dead and the people who are particapating from other forums are surely confused when they come looking.

Steven, I'm looking forward to seeing those pics of your Ranger and the carrier.Cool [8D]

This kid's are off from school now so there up later and want to spend their time with dad. I'm trying to stear them into building with dad but so far no luck yet.

And the wife has her weekend project list for me now.

I'm trying to keep my materials and kits centraly located so it won't be such a big job to take them out and then put them away. I've got to set up a workshop in the basement!

Hey Woody, seems like we're in the same field(basicly). My dad and I are remodeling contractors. Fun, fun, fun. And business is crazy right now. Anyway, on to the Ranger................

I've glued the rear portion of the warp engines since that pic. I've also been shifting between the Ranger and the carrier..............

Glued the engines on and had to correct one that was slightly off. Mostly primed but still needs a few tweaks. Need to make a stand for it.

Steven your kicking butt! Cool [8D]Thumbs Up [tup]

Me and a guy from work did some remodeling work on the side a few years back. We even remodeled the main office of our parent company. Sixteen hour days got old but I enjoyed doing finish carpentry.

I've just finished my Normandie group build and have started up on my ST build again. I keep it at work so that I have some thing to do at lunch and breaks but it is coming along slowly, guess it would be easier to bring it home and rough it on the scroll saw but I'm afraid it would get lost amongst the other projects and get sidelined. I dont really know what to say about the decision to to move GB's to there own forum but it is kind of inconvenient to get to (I'm a dial up dinasaur) but there are so many (which I think is great) that maybe it just seemed like a good thing for them to do.

Woody's right though, it was dying because noone saw new posts as soon as they entered the sci-fi section.

Yes. I like finish carpentry better(doors/windows too), but can't do them until the rough stuff is done. And with the summer heat coming on all the harder.

Carrier's a hit over on the 2500th thread at Starship Modeler.

Looks like the FSM forum is slowing down again.

Actually I'm doing a little more lately. Glued phasers on yesterday( HO scale light lenses). Thanks again for the SSD sheet. I may decide to make it a Dragoon, seeing as its the ship with Hellbore Big Smile [:D]. Wish I had a digicam for pics.
