Ecto1 or Ecto1-a
Posted by ilikespagetti on Wednesday, July 7, 2004 7:05 PM
For a while I've been wanting to build an Ecto1, I like the look of the Ecto1-a better than the Ecto1, but i like the price of the Ecto1 better. Does one of the kits have more detail? I know ertl isnt so great mold and accuracy wise with sci-fi stuff but their cars seem to be ok and Polar Lights is usally lacks detailed painting instructions, If you got their 1960's Batmobile you should know what I mean. If people could hook me up with info on these kits that'd be great the lates article posted about an ecto1 the link to connect to starshipmodeler doesnt exist anymore. Thanks

The Ertl kit definitly has more detail but I like the simpleness of the PL kit (that and I can't get a decent price on the Ertl kit).
If you are going to detail it out, there is this page on Starship that shows how to make the proton packs and rack http://www.starshipmodeler.com/r&v/kr_pax.htm
Here is a buildup of the PL kit http://www.culttvman.com/jose_fernandez__ecto-1_.html
This site has screen captures of both cars.
