1966 Batmobile

Thought I'd try to show off my baby. I started this project just before my daughter was born... now it's two years later and I've finally finished. I cheated and used the resin conversion parts readily available on eBay. i still have a lot to learn about painting, and wish the pin stripes came out a little better, but I'm still proud of her!

I'd love to see some other Futura conversions!

Very nice job! I have one on the shelf that I started a few years ago, and I will be lucky if it comes out looking half as good as yours!

Thank you for your comments, I hope you get around to finishing yours, it's a fun project. This is actually my second, I attempted to scratch build my first without the resin parts. It tuned out to be more of a learning experience! Anyway, I think we tend to be our own worse critics.

Thank you very much.

I'm with you Woody, I almost find is depressing when talking about Batman/Batmobile and realizing the other person is thinking Michael Keaton!

Great job, Lee! The 1966 Batmobile is THE Batmobile! And the striping looks just fine.

Yes, it is currently at the "bay" place. I'm hoping to finance the resin X-Wing I just purchased before the credit card bill arrives and my wife throws me out.

The Captain Cardboard re-issue. It arrived two days ago and looks great. Step one is running fiber optics (my first attempt at lighting) into the cockpit. I'm a little worried about drilling the first hole!
