Studio Scale X-Wing

I started building the resin re-issue of Captain Cardboards' X-Wing. This has been my first attempt at lighting and thought I'd show it off a little. I'll post more pics as the project advances.

Thanks for the comments! Yes, they are fiber optics with LED sources (I used small swatches of photographic lighting gel to change the color... they've been a lot of fun to play with thus far.

I 'm VERY pleased with the kit. It's the first resin kit of tried, I was apprehensive after reading a lot about resin kits having brittle parts and lots of clean-up involved. All of the parts of this kit are very thick and seem sturdy (overall, it's gonna be a heavy model). There's some flash, but not much, cleanup has been very easy.

The cockpit is the only part of the ship I've really tackled as yet, but I've dry fitted the rest of the parts and they all line up perfectly.

The only bad thing, the canopy frame arrived with a rather serios warp to it, but the seller is shipping a new one.

So far, I have no regrets except that it's keeping me up far too late every night!
