Congrats Leelan! Its well worth the praise. And now you get publicity to boot!! Maybe there's a side business for you, hook up with some museums, etc.

(There is no Smilie for " - weird -" !!!)

Which is how I'm feeling. Best I can do is Gomer Pyle's "Well gahhh-lee..."
"Shucks" might come close.

I have just been contacted via email by an actual paleontologist - more specifically, an expert on prehistoric whales! He wants more pictures of my model to put in an exhibit in November! See:

I saw your model of Basilosaurus on the web and was very impressed with its accuracy. I am the curator of paleontology at Georgia Southern Museum (Statesboro, GA) and am currently in charge of the scientific content for our revised Hall of Natural History. I am currently looking for a an image to put in our exhibit to accompany an actual Basilosaurus vertebra we have.

I like the job I did. You like it. And my friends here in town like it.

But to have an actual "for-real" expert give me kudos has me feeling Blush [:I] .
I am very flattered! And thrilled!

But if you would have asked me, I would have said, "Never in a million years."

Great job. Not only on Bazzy, but also on the others (Nautilas, and both squids). You definately have the talent. Keep going. We look forward to more such models. Kasy

Cool site! Yes the museum display sounds like a great idea, using model railroad people. Keep us posted on your progress. I'd love to see the pics.

How 'bout an underwater scene/rock outcropping?

We are on the same page! Big Smile [:D]

I had originally intended to make Bazzy part of a museum diorama with a couple of civilians looking on. But I got impatient and slapped together the base you saw.

And you are right, Steve! I have the model on StarshipModeler and CultTVman's websites!

Nice job on the basilosaurus. Where's the warp engines? Big Smile [:D] Seriously, I do remember seeing that somewhere(Starship Modeler?). Nice sculpt and paint job. As for the base, how 'bout an underwater scene/rock outcropping?

Been lurking on the BB for a month or two. But I could no longer keep silent!

Lots of great scratchbuilding in here! Tongue [:P]Tongue [:P]Tongue [:P]

Makes me feel a bit of a Clown [:o)] really.

All I've managed to finish in a half-dozen tries is this:http://www.modeltsar.zoomshare.com/1.shtml/Basilosaurus
Though it could do with a better base and paint job. Blush [:I]

BUT... you have given me inspiration!!!

I may start another half-dozen! May even finish one...
