... modifications you do on a Sci-Fi Kit.

For me the first thing I look at position and sensor lights, most of them are sanded off and replaced with clear parts(H-Eyes) backed with silver tape and than painted with clear colors.

After that I look at replacing barrels and other similar parts with metal tubing and molded hoses with aftermarket hoses designed for cars.

Lets hear from you??

Cut open vents & what not and add brass screen. Seem to be doing it to just about anything with a intake.

I also have started turning barrels to repace the cheesy, mis-formed ones that normally come with armed kits.

They are clear parts made by Wave(Japan) and are designed to be used for sci-Fi kits. They come in a selection of shapes, sizes and colors.

They are part of Waves and Kotobukiya's range of super-detailing options for robot kits, the full series contains everything from hands to exhaust nozzles, joints, rivets and also springs, etc.

Some of the parts can also be used for standard models like airplanes to replace molded wing-tip lights and so on.

Got a big drawer full of the stuff. Wink [;)]

I see. It looks like a useful line of detail parts.

Yes, I use them quiet a bit on my Models, both ranges are good and also include poly-caps which come in handy when the kit supplied ones are missing or been damaged.

Even went so far as to buy the Wave guide to their option system which has plenty of ideas on how to use them in imaginative ways.

Tends to get a bit pricey though if you rely too much on them. Wink [;)]
