Here's some new shots of this monstrosity.

Most of these are from the starboard side, plus rear and front.

And a sample:

Here's the older page showing the port side details:

That's pretty kewel, dude.

Got any pics that give a good overview of what the entire model looks like? Those you've got on your site give a great view of the detail, but not what the ship looks like from a bit of a distance away. Got any plan-view type pics?

Sorry. Now you're making me have to think.

It's more of an exploratory type of ship (but with a couple of weapons for defense). Maybe even a bit utilitarian. I'll have to think of more of a back story later.

Yeah, it'll be weathered. Color-wise, I'm going to paint the whole thing black so the recessed areas will be black, then paint the raised areas a reddish orange, dirty and weathered.

But did anyone ever stop to think WHY a ship that never enters an atmosphere (this is BIG research vessel, too big to land) would be weathered? No friction, no rust, no dirt. It's kind of funny.

But you do run into a lot of stellar dust at near light speed. And nasty stuff in nebula's, and....uhm...I'm sure I could think of more reasons a non-landing craft would be weathered.

but mostly it's 'casue they look cool.
