Wonderfest Hopefuls-Watch those seams!
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, December 6, 2004 6:20 PM
Sorry, I meant to post this in the existing Wonderfest thread, but when I went to log in, I lost the thread I guess.

I won a Silver in the 1998 Wonderfest in hardware, and was told the reason I didn't score higher was I had some seams that needed work. These were very subtle seam problems, so they look at your work with an eagle's eye! Good luck to everyone who enters.

Thanks for the tip John. What was the model that won you a silver?

It was my original design drop ship model, shown here:

Kewelness! I recall seeing pics of that on somebody's website at one point. VERY nice job. Bow [bow]

Wow! It's cool someone remembers my entry at IPMS. Didn't even place there (and again, was told I had a good design, but was too sloppy with the seams). I really do wish I could care about seams as much as the design and execution of a model, but I'm just not a seam guy I guess.

My silver at wonderfest must've been 1997 instead of 1998, because I did them both in the same year...

Thanks for remembering!
John
