Well, most of the kits are 1/20 and really dont take up much space at all. The exception would bethe Krote, the Fledermaus, and hornisse which take up to a foot square of space.

Whoa, dude! That's awesome looking! I've always thought t hose kits were interesting, but never could really get in to them due to display space limitations.

The cheapest way to order those kits is to order like 3 or more of the smaller ones so the shipping will stay as you would for one kit.

I totally agree that the kits are great and easy to build, no flash, no pins, sinkmarks and if you use liquid cement you almost never have to use filler! they were exceptional in every way. I almost forgot the 1/6 stuff and of course the 1/16 resin from silicone tribe. i havnt seen the white metal figures yet. The one thing i dont like is the Kubrik stuff too childish for me!

Actually there are quiet a few "companies" that make 1/35 scale and others resin kits designed for the table top wargame, also seen a few white metal kits out.
Those usually are only sold at japanese events and kit shows though.

A few companies did resin conversion kits to allow you to build variants that Nitto never released, looks like Wave got the ball and is issuing now from time to time plastic model versions of those kits.

The 1/6 Soft Vinyl Kits are also nice and make a good display/conversation item, not sure if the Clint Eastwood replacement heads are still available though.

I also like the kits as they tend to have few problems during assembly and great conversions can be done with them.

Yellow submarine makes some 1/35 stuff and it isnt much, but HLJ does carry them.

I started building these kits back in the 1980`s and of course they stopped production in 86. but started back up in the 90`s. I was so excited by this that I needed to get all of them! So, I checked all over the world for them and found that the best place to start was to join the Ma.K yahoo group and ask questions about where to get them again. If you are interested in getting the reissues of the kits then the best place would be HobbyLink Japan.com. They have all of the kits except for the Konrad,neuspotter,and the Krachenvogel. These moulds were destroyed in a fire and are very rare and collectors want a lot of money for them, the krachy goes for around 75-120.00U.S. Now if you want the originals of the S.F.3.D series the best place to get them is on ebay, but remember,bidding is fierce for these kits, while they are worth double what the reissues cost new you`ll be spending an average of 25.00 bucks plus shipping! Ive got all of the original series and 2 or 3 of the reissues, which I use for kit bashing and trans kits, as in the Pak Krote and the skinhead is a kit bash and so is the raccoon mk3. To build them, just treat them like armor, because thats what they are! They are the coolest kits i have ever built and are worth the money ive spent on them!

To get the FULL timeline, I think you need to read the instructions in the game or similar.

I thought the original premise was that it was WWIV and that though much of the gear is German it had nothing to do with WWII origins. Since this it the 4th world war and much was devasted by the 3rd, this technology has a throughback back look to it.

I thought I remember reading this on one of the original SF3D boxes.

Those kits were originally relesaed some 20+yrs ago under the label of S.F.3.D., than Kow(the creator/NITTO) had a falling out with Hobby Japan'bandai about the rights and the kits were no longer available till about 4yrs ago, when they were reissued under the Maschienen Krieger label.

Assumption of the basic backgreound story is that the germans won WW II and the technology evolved in a different direction, more can be found here. Check here for all the designs:

Kits are getting rarer now as, the latest releases seem to be heading into figures and other toys. The original kits were groundbreaking as they were high quality(even by todays standard) and were multi-material.

Yeah, I did order from hlj. I hope itll be soon, This was supposed to be my christmas present from my wife, but more than likely itll be around next year before it arrives! A real bummer.

HLJ still has got it listed as december release, which means end of december in real terms.

Got mine pre-ordered already.
