Nice work. I tried one once upon a time, painting it in Desert Camo for Marines use. I abandoned the kit and sold it. Keep the pics coming.

Good work, still got that one in the Pile too.
But think I will do the Argonauts kit first(Vinyl, Resin & White Metal)

My Horizon kit got a deformed leg which I will need to fix before I can really attack it.

Thanks guys! Model Museum, I had the chance to buy a Argonauts Ed late 2003 but backed out because of the $150 price tag. What are the differences between it and the Horizon besides the resin and metal pieces and is it better than Horizons? Now if only I could find a Cain kit for $150 or less! Heck, I'd be happy if I just knew that someone found one!

For one the Kit is a lot smaller, the body, lower legs and arms are still vinyl.
Guns and some of the parts on the upper legs are White metal.

The major difference are the struts on the rear of the legs, they are made from Resin(2 pieces) with a centre white metal screw/shaft.
Check the image below it looks something like that:

If you want big than the Horizon is your best bet, if you want smaller and more accurate than the Argonauts can't be beat.
AFAIK, they are based on different movie models though there will be some differences in designs.

Be warned though some companies make poor all-resin copies of the argonauts kit.

HTH.

FYI, I also did their 1/4 Terminator Endoskeleton and it is the BEST kit there is of the design.

Awesome, yeah, I guess either way would have been best. The Argonauts seems like it would have been less work but I love the size of the Horizon. Here's a pic I took last night, I assembled my kit with scotch tape and a very small amount of super glue just to hold some parts in place. I just wanted to get an idea of how big it was assembled. My wife thought it was funny that I reacted the same way my 5 year old boy did! Big Smile [:D] This thing dwarfs my chihuahua, hehe!!!

BTW, I thought it was cool...the guy who offered to sell the Argonauts ED is son of Henry Alvarez (http://www.alvarezwaxmodels.com/alv%20frameset.htm), who actually worked on Robocop. Both of their work is impressive!

Yes, I remember you mentioned that quite a while ago. In another era, actually. Welcome back!

Looking good. I am thinking of adding some LED's into mine if i ever get round to get it started.

Opened the box where I store my Vinyl kits and found that the 1/35 Horizon MadCat has deformed even more. Sad [:(]
Guess I will have to put it out of it's misery and finish it soon(maybe in 8 or 9 months when the bench clears).

Joe! Smile [:)]

I just wanted to say that is one awesome build-up you're doing of ED-209 there, dude! Big Smile [:D]

I can only hope mine will be half as good as yours Cool [8D].

I just became a member of this forum earlier this week, as I've got a Horizon's ED-209 vinyl kit coming my way shortly. Now, as experienced as I am with kit-building, I've only ever worked with injection-molded or resin, so this is something entirely new and different for me Tongue [:P].

Check out my "Horizon's ED-209 Vinyl Model Kit... How to Build It?" thread; maybe you'll be able to give me a few pointers on how to put this puppy together... Wink [;)]
