The show is going to rerun I believe in January 2005, The acting is not as cheesy compared to the orginal series. However I did spent the entire day watching reruns of the old Battlestar Galactica.

Everything I've seen so far looks great. Your right about the the Battlestar Galactica making an impressive modeling subject. I have pics of the CG model without the surface texture on my hard drive. I saved them for a possible scratchbuild.

Here is my blueprint set. I made it by tracing the high resolution Ortho's that were posted on a couple of sites. I got a little help from one of "the powers that be" at Zoic for the rear view.

My CAD file is smoother. PDF isn't too friendly with this massive file. (The PDF is over 4MB.)

I doubt we will see it here in Japan.. We have the Super Channel that claims to be a big Sci Fi Channel, but all I ever see are reruns of old Star Trek.. We had the premier of Enterprise's first season a year after it aired in the US, and then with even more fanfair, the second series.. But 3 years later, we are still getting re-re-re-runs of season 2.. I have had to completely miss season 3, and start downloading season 4 from the net... So I hope someone puts the new Battlestar series in BitTorrent files for the rest of us!

I think we can blame WB/UPN for Enterprise. They keep moving it around,
throwing reruns into the middle of the season, heck I even think one season was only about 8 episodes. seemed that way anyhow.
I love the show (when I can find it) but I hate that #$@%*&! network.
You need advanced theoretical friggin calculus to figure out their program schedual!!
Anyway,I hope the new BSG makes it to you,cuz it's definatly not the old BSG.

Well with the help of modern technology, I just finished watching the first episode.. Not bad as an updated version.. But whats with this talk of god, and human cylons.. Also. the Cylons I have seen look like the robot from the Lost in space movie.. Bring back the old Centurian!.. The girl playing Starbuck is trying way too hard.. Simply not cool!...I accept it for what it is.. But must say that it hasnt gotten my attention yet!.. For younger people who never saw the original.. This will be just as exciting as the original was for us.. But still.. This one is kinda funky!.. One think I did like, is the chick playing Boomer.. Not exactly a big black man.. But she looks hot, so I will accept that change!

Did you see the mini-series from last year? If not you are missing a bit of the set-up.

There are still robotic looking Cylons in the new BSG. I preffer the old reptilian Cylons myself but the machines turning against their makers isn't too bad either. Does the new series take up were the mini-series left off.

Nah, I dont think I missed much!.. They have gone a little over board in making it a "now" show.. I will watch it, and enjoy it for what it is.. But as corny as the old one was.. It will always be the one that I will love and remember! Nice special effects with this new one, but everything was way cooler looking on the old one!... I even miss the really old green tv screen that had the space invader triangles that displayed incomming Cylons on the radar!.. Now why couldnt they have left that on the new show?

The only thing that I don't care for is the new Starbuck. She comes off as a pretty girl playing the role of a tough wise craking rocket jockey and failing miserably. The old show and Battlestar were a lot cooler.

The series has only 3 episodes left to screen in the UK.
It doesnt have the greatest start but does get better.
The battles are a vast improvement on anything that has gone before.

New Battlestar ......
Cobywon: thanks for the link...
i hope that the rerelease of the viper and raider are accompanied by a battlestar . these are the old 78 design.
Dose any one know if thier is a going to be any new models of the remake ?
I realy hope that if they do they keep the vipers in the same scale with interchangable parts or at least a surprise extra.
like : a cockpit kit for the orginal viper kit.
The New Battlestar BSG75 Richard Hatch has a role in it , i've heard .

IF they make the series worth watching an feed the need for BSG mixed with some new story's ,then ok .
BUT like godzilla if you really bomb at the remake . and then get some interest with the ones who really knew what they are doing then we might see some day what all BSG fans want . the Novels By Richard Hatch really , feed my desire to Want BSG back Dalton and troy's Love & conflict are alittle like the new apollo and Starbuck.
but modeling trully first ....

I want to see the new Battlestar So I Can refit it like the orginal..... or as close as possible . it would also be grate if they would make inscale vipers to place in the Battlestar !.....or shuutles land rams....etc.......

for the other Viper makes. as long as they stay in a consitant scale .
i'll by as many as possible but if they were to offer a ???? generations kit ?

like a 1/48 scale Viper mk1 Mk2 and pre era 1978 model TV viper that would be nice .
with quality castings .
I have made a Colonial Movers star ship useing N scale RailRoad cars like they did in 78". The other parts came from a ? 3/7 reocket modle kit just need to get an air brush to do it justice .

Also scratch bulit a cockpit for my Scarlt Viper : I kit bashed (listen to this ).........
Klingon BOP under wing ,700 scale air craft deck, 1/32 appachi pilot and seat , and
the interior from a Star Wars Shuttle tyderian . for the forward pannels .

Now the engines i extended 1/4 inch useing RR fuel tanks then took tank tread wraped around it all. then shortened the nose mounting at the three injectors 1/4 in. and of course did the scarlet class styling .

the pilot I cut away all the surface detail put on a jacket made out of tissue and glue . I do not as of yet have a set up to show you Pics but i till soon.

Woody ? what class of starship of that pic you have ?

as in Starship troopers , and Space above and beyound. they can make good stories and grate visiual effects ,but you have to keep the fan base and the sponcers and the ratings where they need them .

Too much time has passed for our generation to really embrace new BSG. but if BSG75 fails and the market is still thier thne they might chose to make our hearts desire of a true BSG then in time ? it may come .

well i hope my first posting in your Sci-Fi area i well recived .
if any one looks a my other posts then you'll figure out Fire Fighting is my main listed topic.,
Sci Fi is my #1 modeling calling .

still i wilsh we All had a sourch of model companys that would or could make those models we really want and could afford.
