1 Person and everything was scratchbuild/kit-bashed. Granted I made molds of many parts and cast new ones to speed up the building effort. Wink [;)]

Use many techniques and shortcuts common to the movie FX Industry, ever seen some of those models up close??

If you try to super-detail everything I agree it will take years, but here you are going for an overal impression of a scene and not for super-detailed individual pieces.

On the face of it, it sounds a good idea but having already attempted it:

Since I am currently involved in 2 GB, both of them SF and my next builds are also rather long-time projects I was thinking of doing a long-term involved SF GB/Project.

Here is my proposal.

A 30 x 30cm Diorama consisting of scratchbuild and original design items.
Scale not decided yet, but I think 1/72 or 1/35 might be nice. GB time might be as long as 1 year to 18 months.

Items need to be scratchbuild and/or kit bashed.

What you include and what the theme of the Diorama is up to you, it could be:
1.) Battle scene (aka Battle of Hoth)
2.) Hangar Scene
3.) etc.

Bassically anything goes, but you cannot use currently existing designs and/or kits. BUT you can use parts of existing kits/toys to create your own designs.

We can still come to an agreement of the scale if another scale is desired.
How about maybe open scale??

One of the reasons for the GB is, that I want to build a Diorama for an upcoming Competition 2006 or 2007 and usualy the base size limitations are 30 x 30cm.

I will start working on 2 competition entries for NEXT year by the end of this month. This year August is a little tight for comfort and both of those are Figure kits.

We even might be able to hold some form of judging and the Diorama with the highest score wins and receives some prizes.

Thinking of maybe 2~3 months design time after which the build starts for good.

Let me know what you guys think??
