Maybe if I actually read instead f skim over things and not just look at pics I would not ask stupid questions. I went to start my Daedalous the other day from supplies order by my LSH and go figure some stuff has not arrived and the sphere for the primary hull were the wrong ones. All I can do for now is get the nacelles rolling. When I get a hold of a camera I will post some pics but that might be a while since the only I have is a digital camcorder that did not come with drivers for my computer and SONY does not return my calls about the fact I cannot download the drivers from their website. I am having nothing but problems with getting this project started.

Thanks. If you read the build-up, I mention that I lathe the step to a smooth conic section. I will post updated photos after I figure out the decals, and can give you better details. Let me know if there is more detail you'd like me to add or photograph...

Captain_Mills - Very nice work. For a ship that does not have a lot of detail it came out looking superbly. The engineering examples show you using a step technique for the area around the main deflector. I could not yell from your pics if you filled in the steps to make them smooth or if you kept the step look. Again, very nice work.

Okay, well. It's all but finished. I'm having problems with my homemade decals. they're curling up on me and are not adhering to the hull very well. So I'll have to post updated photos as soon as I get them. Otherwise, here is a buildup (with pix) of my Daedalus Class Build:

I'm still working on the Avenger, my Vulcan starliner, and some very early work on a Huron class and a Marshall class. Time is at a premium with a new baby in the house. Wink [;)]

I can't wait to get my Baton Rouge from the SSM store. By the way, any news on the Avenger Class you were scratchbuilding? I'd love to see that as a kit, too, either through SSM or just produced on your own as you had originally planned to do with the Baton Rouge. No offence meant to Alfred Wong, but your Avenger is much closer to Masao's design and consequently a lot better looking.

So, Woody, I take it the Baton Rouge will be on sale at SSM soon, yes? I seem to remember your mentioning that the decals were the only thing holding it up.

I just finished pattern work on my 1:1,000th scale Daedalus Class and should be sending it off to "Starship Modeler" for tooling in the next few days. All it lacks is a primer coat. I'll have some pictures to show later this evening, so stay tuned.

Andrew, I'll have to look at them on a different computer. The one I'm on is blocking the MSN Groups... I'm excited to see what they look like. What scale are you building in?

Comments. critique, and suggestions are always welcome. The warp pods are heavily re-worked plastic spoons, which is not the way I would do it the next time. The booms are aluminum tube which will be partially concealed by the muffs made from 1/72 Harrier electronics humps. The tip tanks are 1/144 drop tanks.

Thanks Masao, and thanks again the rest of you. No offense ot Roberto Lima, but it is easier for me to open up my 3dsmax and whip up my own 3-D version of the Amarillo than to ask someone else and wait for their response. So, I sat down and whipped on up in about 30 minutes. I'll keep working on it, and hopefully it'll be a fair decent image in about a week. Here's the updated link, not much has changed...

Thanks guys, I was worried about some copyright & permissions stuff, since a few of the images don't belong to me. I think I properly sited them, but I wanted to ask the original authors if it was ok to put them there. Anyway, I'll probably post a similar build for each of the ships I'm doing from the museum. I may add a scale convertor to it somehow (if I can remember my javascript) so that anyone can come on and figure out how big of parts to buy to build in different scales.

Nice job! Doing the UN globes in blue instead of white actually makes them possible. I was finally able to do some work on my Chowder this weekend- I actually had a weekend (!). The warp beans were attached to some aluminum tube pylons, the impulse drive throat was drilled out, and the stub wings attached. I'm even thinking about decals. The Klingon text from the Polar Lights D-7 might be able to masquerade as Romulan with a little trimming, but I'm open to other options.

I just thought I'd ask you folks if you thought it'd be ok if I posted this on my website. I've done a few buildups (in the style of SSM's pages) and just thought I'd ask you if the content was ok with you.
