Who knows? I rack it up to ignorance of what builders want. The ship I would have liked to seen was the Romulan ship.

I was saddened to see RC2 as the new owner of Polar Lights-we can kiss goodbye almost anything other than an auto, everything else going the way if the dodo.
PL issued some great stuff-especially those old Aurora kits-the new NX-01 is a challenge but great, and I hope that RC2 doesn't kill the company before the 1701A hits the shelves-now in April (doesn't sound too good)-get those PL kits now-or pay the price on e-bay.

I agree one hundred percent! Why the companies insit on creating the least popular vehicles before the popular ones is beyond me! If they actually paid more attention to there market they would know that modelers want starships and esp optional parts like PL did with the 1701.

Racing Champs, the new owner, may suprise us yet. Since they have taken charge there have been no new Star Trek kits announced(no new kits at all as far as I know). The Scorpion(yeah !Sigh [sigh]) and 1/350 Refit were in the works before and have squeaked by. I'm just covering my own backside by getting some of the kits I want while the gettings good. Who knows maybe brisk sales of the Refit Enterprise will make them reconsider more Trek kits. My big worry is after the Scorpion bombs like the Kazon Torpedo they'll say there is no money to be made in ST kits and pull the plug.Disapprove [V]

I didn't know that! Who bought them out? I have been putting off getting me a TOS 1701 for the longest becasue didn't think there was any rush. Now i will have to! Not mention I'll need to get me another delorean time machine and maybe even another Ecto-1! CRUD! That also means there will be no more 1960's Batmobiles! i haven't even finished most of theses kits and now I might have to buy extras before they end up on E-vil bay.lol

Yolev, I don't know what the future holds but I do know that PL has been bought out and most of the PL people let go. The PL forum hasn't had anyone from the company post there in many a moon and last week I learned that the proposed 1/350 Klingon ship and a large scale Seaview sub kit have been cancelled. The guy who mastered the 1/350 Refit Enterprise is sure that we will see that one but I'm getting nervous because it was supposed to be here the end of last year. Forgive me for being cynical but I'm get PL kits while the gettings good.Wink [;)]

Woody

I hope you are pulling my leg... Since I am new back to modelling, I am not very aware of what is going on in the business.

Is Polar Lights in trouble.. are they struggling? Will we ever really see a 1/350 Enterprise 1701-A ??

I was already thinking of picking up another NX-01 (or two) figuring I will probably want to do this again (without all the goofs, and dumb mistakes) that I am making now. I don't know what in the h3!! I will do with this model once I am finished. (Let alone a 33" long 1701-A) but I just LOVE the idea of building a model as big as my head !! Big Smile [:D]

Please tell me it isn't so. Is PL really on the way out ???

Thanks

Oh and did you watch the Enterprise episode Affliction yet.

Thanks for the lighting tips and yes I did watch "Enterprise" last Friday.

I'm not sure when I'll get to build it because I have so many scratchbuilding projects on my to do list. I figured I better get one while the getting is good. I don't think PL will be with us much longer. I hope the 1/350 Refit Enterprise makes it to market so I can get a few for my stash.

Sorry to Hijack your thread Woody.

Yes the Hobby Lobby is just off 31 (East Sternburg Rd Exit) just south of Muskegeon.

BTW Woody. The NX-01 is what got me all fired up about modelling again. My wife got it for me for Christmas. She was so pleaed that she got it for half off, that I haven't had the heart to tell her that I have spent about $100.00 on paints and supplies. ( I just had to get an airbrush to do the 'Aztecing' on the hull after all.)Big Smile [:D]

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

It's a BBC licenced product made by "Product Enterprise LTD". It sounds just like a Dalek and it has five phrases and flasing lights. It's about 6-7" tall.

Sounds like a nice haul there Woody. I wish we had a HL near us. There are no hobby shops around anymore! Sad [:(] That Dalek sounds cool. Who makes it?

I took advantage of the 50% off coupon to pick up a 1/350 NX-01 and a 1/1000 D-7. While I was out I also bought season two of the TOS DVD boxed sets, so now I have them all! I'll never want for a ST fix again.Approve [^] I also found a talking Doctor Who Dalek figure to keep me company at the PC. Who said you can't buy friends.Laugh [(-D]
