Help NX-01 painting dilema..
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, March 4, 2005 9:36 PM
Okay I am an idiot!

I was building my NX-01 and following the directions. I didn't realize until just about an hour ago.. that the colors for the navigation lights on the saucer are backwards.

I built the nacels early, and was just dry fitting them to see how they looked when I realized the problem. If I wasn't such an idiot, I would have thought about waht AI was doing and caught it before the parts where solidly glued in. (Now that I know you can't unglue parts... )

So I figure that I can wipe down the nav. lights with windex 'til they are clear and repaint them. Is there an easier way ? I am almost tempted to repaint the nacels.. (since there are only two light not four). Even though I am probably the only person in the world who would ever notice... It would always drive me nuts they are backwards.

All four nav lights on the saucer have to be redone. Though none of you are as stupid as I, just letting you know. Pay attention, and don't necessarily follow the directions on this model.

Any suggestions for clean up would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thank you

Top coat them with some silver and then recoat them with the proper "clear" colors. Unless you're lighting the model, it should look okay. That's how I painted the Nav light on my build and they look pretty good:
