Spaceflight Chronology?
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, March 13, 2005 6:03 PM
Hi all

Like many, I have been following Woody's progress on the Baton Rouge Class. I will say here.... beautiful work.

In the discussion, metion was made of "the Spaceflight Chronology". Is this a book? Is it canon? (I know Enterprise isn't, but I still watch.)

Thank you

It is a softcover colour illustrated book dealing with the history of space flight in the ST universe. Whether it is canon is something I am not not sure of!

But it is the book that most Trek enthusiasts hold as correct and true Smile [:)]

I purchased mine in 1981 for the princely sum of AU$1.00. Roughly A4 in size and only about 5mm thick.

cheers

Mike

It's a book that came out around the time of the first Trek movie. If canon is defined as what's on screen, it's definitely not canon. But it's got some nice painting and designs by Rick Sternbach.

It's a great book and a super source for Trek scratchbuilding projects.

it may not be cannon, but it did supply some of the artwork for the first movie, ie the 'ring' ship shown in the 'enterprise evolution' display.
