I'm currently working on building AMT's Y-wing kit (about 1/72 by the look of it, though there is no scale on the box).
It's nearly finished though, I've painted the base coat of white and just need to do the details, squadron colours + weathering, so it's too late for the GB. Still, I'll post some pics when it's finished, if anyone's interested.

However I have a MUCH bigger Y-wing project planned.. not a complete scratchbuild though (though it will
have some scratchbuilt parts) - you'll see what I'm talking about when it's done...
It might be a while till I actually get started on building it though (I really need to finish the X-Wing first) but
maybe this will be in time for the GB! I'll certainly use Hatewall's drawings as a reference guide.

I have to work on a commission this weekend, but I will get the blueprints posted the first of the week. The 3D model is built, I just have to lay out the 3-views.

I'll scale a set to 1/72 and a set to 1/48. Individual requests for other scales will have to be done as time allows.

Who mentioned PLANS ??? It may be one of my dark secrets, but I just can't resist plans, I have maybe 200+ plans of a/c and boats.
And to add a Y-Wing (with the option of joining this possible GB of course) would be like a wet dream.

Euh, in one word... YES

I, too, would be interested in Y-wing plans. Thanks, Hatewall.

Mmmmm, scratchbuilt Y-Wing GB, sounds like my cup-o-tea! I have a full plate already, but would be very interested in the plans and the GB (especially a no-time-frame GB). I probably wouldn't be able to do much with it until mid-summer though.

I would also LOVE to get my hands on these! I wish Finemolds would get around to releasing one (grrr!). BTW, what scale are they going to be in?

Hatewall, that is a cool rendition you have there. I have never been a big sci-fi fan, but have always loved the Y-wing -- my favorite star wars aircraft, don't ask me "Y" Tongue [:P]
Doing something that scratch is way out of my league, but good luck to anyone that attempts it! Thumbs Up [tup]

Would be very cool to have plans. (or even see what the plans would look like for that fact...)

Thanks,
Leon

NP, Woody, thats why I listed it as informal without a date. Everyone has a pretty full plate ATM, including me. I'm doing it at a side project and if something comes up, it will have to wait.

I don't know if I'll have time to join another GB but I'd love to see the blue prints!

Y-Wing Group Build
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, March 17, 2005 5:39 AM
I am working on a set of blueprints to scratchbuild a Y-Wing.

If anyone wants access to them, I can post them and we can have an informal group build without a time frame.

These prints will not have every surface detail. They are for patterns and general shape but are moderately detailed. Super-Detailing will be up to you using photo reference.

They should be done in the next day or so.
