Matrix Models - Nebuchadnezzar, Osiris, etc
Posted by Cobrahistorian on Thursday, June 12, 2003 1:04 AM
Hey everyone,

Sci Fi is not my usual realm, so I figured I'd ask if anyone knew of any new kits of the ships from The Matrix? I'd love to get my hands on one, especially one of the "Osiris" featured in the Animatrix. Seems like a gunship version as opposed to the smaller, lighter "Nebuchadnezzar".

One cool feature of the Matrix website is a virtual model of the Neb. You actually have to pull parts off of sprues and rotate them to fit properly. Of course, there's no challenge of fitting, sanding, etc, but its a neat exercise.

Hopefully there will be a plastic kit coming out. Lookin forward to hearing from you all!

Ok, NO ONE knows anything about models of the Matrix hovercraft? I'd kinda assume that since they've got the virtual model of the Nebuchadnezzar on the Matrix website, someone's got one in the works... no one's heard any rumblings?

Jon,

This sounds like a dumb question, but could you please post the link for the virtual model you're talking about?

Here's a link to the virtual model from the Matrix:

Be forwarned, it's a 50 Meg download.

Personally, I think I'ld rather see a kit of the Osiris or Sentinels from the Animatrix.

Hey, that's pretty cool! I'll bet they release the model in a "non-virtual" form. :D

I hate to say it brother, but I've been waiting for one to come out since the first movie. Killer link though!
I think we will all have to be patient and wait for a company that has enough engineers that are fans(and willing to get the license!!), before one comes out. Kinda like the Star Wars kits that FineMolds came out with.

I've been playing with the virtual model now for a while and I'm in awe. It is simply really neat. You'd think that since they have the computer models, they'd be able to plug it into a CAD program, makes the molds, and release the kit.

Drew,

It certainly would be cool! I'm hoping that since they came up with the virtual model, they'll cave in and do a real one too. Probably using the virtual one for market research! We can only hope!

Anyone who has this 3d model: can I somehow get it from you? The link is down and I'm unable to download it. Thanks.

I checked out that 3D model, but I could see my computer cringing in fear at the attempt to download it. I have what may be called an "older machine," and I'm sure it would explode.

That thing sure looks good, though!
