Btw what scale are the AMT star wars kits anyways I still have the Star Destroyer I built years ago plus the Star Destroyer with the Fiber Optic kit. And does anyone have extra decals for the AMT A-wing as I stated earlier it was missing from the kit and the kit was mint in the box.

On the workbench: Dragon 1/350 scale Ticonderoga class USS BunkerHill 1/720 scale Italeri USS Harry S. Truman 1/72 scale Encore Yak-6

The 71st Tactical Fighter Squadron the only Squadron to get an Air to Air kill and an Air to Ground kill in the same week with only a F-15 http://photobucket.com/albums/v332/Mikeym_us/

This thread is well over a year old and Drawde hasn't logged on since October 2005 (hope he's OK), so I doubt he's going to respond. Of course, plenty of other folks here can probably help you with your questions.

That was a nice build, eh?

Great job on this kit.. I also agree it is one of the better looking designs.. The colours are a nice change also.. I would suggest doing away with the base and building your own, those bases are rubbish hey..  But again, nice job... If you have built a Fine Molds X-Wing, you can use the spare astro droid decals for the droid on the Y-Wing.. Nice little effect without having to paint it..

Cheers Chris

On the bench:

Nice build. It's not bad for a snap-tite. I'm hoping it'll get re-released this year since some of the other kits have.

Just shows you how Ebay item prices can vary hugely...
I bought this kit on Ebay for around £5 including P&P, however there's one currently
selling for £23!
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=1193&item=5965717012&rd=1

This is the exact same kit as mine, even the same box art.
Whilst it's good value for £5, IMHO this kit is definitely -not- worth £23, from the point of view of size, detail level, and fit/quality - I'd rather put the money towards a SMT kit (assuming I could find one) than pay that much for it.

Y-Wing completed (AMT/ERTL kit)

Here's my AMT/ERTL Star Wars Y-Wing starfighter, finally finished. I painted it in "Green Squadron" colours, for a change from the usual "Gold Squadron" Y-Wings (was Gold the Y-Wing squadron in the first SW film? - can't remember, but I presume so), and weathered it heavily to bring out the surface detail.

The kit is intended as a "snap-together" one and so the fit and detail accuracy of some of the components leaves a lot to be desired. However, it still makes a nice model once assembled and painted (needed a lot of filler putty though for the gaps on the fuselage joins). Scale seems to be about 1/72 based on the size of the pilot figure, maybe a bit smaller.

Other than the colour scheme, and the fact that I didn't use the decal sheet, the kit is built "out of the box", though glued rather than "snapped" together!

The "flying base" is a bit useless, as the ship is so tail-heavy it tends to fall over unless balanced very carefully! However I managed to get it to stand up long enough to photograph it.
