Thank you Wally World for the Star Wars models
Posted by stram8777 on Sunday, April 3, 2005 9:48 PM
I went to Wal-Mart today and found the AMT Star Wars models. all they had left was the Snowspeeder, but I happily bought it. Just wanted to give you guys a heads up about this. I wanna check a few other stores and maybe find an X-Wing.

Some times KMart has models to. I was there last week and they had the Snowspeeder, At-St, and the X-Wing all 13.99.

Different stores must choose (or be sent) different shipments. Up until recently my local Wally World had only car models (almost all AMT kits), no other kits of any kind unless you count Chinese-made metal F-18's with the name of the carrier spelled wrong on the decals! In the last few months they've expanded their stock, mostly with Revellogram stuff; the cars are decent but the acft are the standard 1/48 super store kits: Huey hog (the Revell 1/48 Huey is bloody embarassing), F-14, spitfire, Mustang...And definitely no Star Wars kits, though they seem to have every Star Wars lego set known to Man.

I should ask my Mom how they handle this stuff, she started at a KMart at least 20 years ago and switched to Wally World after a few years, and she's worked in the stock area so she's got to know how they're ordered..

Talk about a post gone wrong.

Our Walmarts broadcast in espanol over the loudspeakers. I was merely saying that most won't notice the spelling errors. Sorry for offending.

Be sure to check the non-model areas of the stores, I found 2 x-wings, 2 snowspeeders, and 2 AT-AT's on a top shelve near the Star War Toys. Does anyone know what kits are being re-released. Is it just these three, or are there more.

How the quality on the x-wing and snow speeder? i'd like to pick one up. I have never built them though I have built both Vader's Tie and the Tie intercepter. Still got an interceptor in the box I picked up a few years back. I was about to bild it to dispaly with the other too but changed my mind. I might throw it together this week end so I can have a flight formation.

As for the above joke/comment...no comment.

That garbage has no place here. It's the first time i've seen it here and I'm surprised the forum administrator allowed the response to remain posted. Is the forum now open to racially based comments? If you put up with it, then you might as well agree with it. If it offends you then don't put up with it, if you do then you just reinforce the knucklehead who spewed it. Sick to the modelling comments and keep your caveman view of society to yourself if you don't know how to behave in public.

Thank you Matt! I have strong feelings about that-could you tell? I love modeling and also enjoy a good joke. The forum is a place to discuss and enjoy the hobby and to me should be a safe haven from those subjects since they have absolutely nothing to do with the hobby. enough said!

Hopefully they have made some improvements to the X-wing kit.The fuselage halves of the kit I had just wouldn't fit together.

Hey keep checking with Toys R Us. Just saw they where stocked up on the Falcon and Death Star (Death Star kit...Yuck [yuck]) kits in my area. I don't know why they re-issued the Death Star when they have so many other great kits they could have given us. And as far as any changes to the kits we are all out of luck, same old kits in new boxes. Remember putty is your friend.Laugh [(-D]

Well I have been away for a while, first off let me apologize for what happened I did not intend for this to happen when I started the thread.

Anyway I got an X-wing at Toys'r'us. They had the Snowspeeder and the Death Star. But nothing else. I would really like to find a Millenium Falcon and an AT-AT. Wal-Mart has not restocked since I posted this. I have checked the two in the immediate area with no luck.

Good Luck to everyone on finding these kits.
