Polar Lights "What's New"
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 6:16 PM
just checked the polar lights website for any updates on the long awaited NCC-1701 refit 1/350. It has been removed from the "coming soon " page. The "What's New" page shows TOS enterprise kit released last year. Is this their version of an April Fools joke? I was hoping to see that the TMP Enterprise had been released.Big Smile [:D]

That does not seem promising.Disapprove [V] I wonder if RC2 thinks the kit will be overshadowed by all of the new Star Wars kits coming out at about the same time? Maybe they will try a little later in the year, or cancel it all together if the SW kits tank at the stores.Sigh [sigh]

I wouldn't worry to much RC2 has a habit of taking their time with things and from the sound of it they have far to much money tied to the project at this time to pull out. They still have the small 1701 being shipped out to Toys R Us so maybe it will show up one of these days.

I hope that with all the delays the kit will still have good molding and detail.

I saw a post on another forum from someone who had contacted RC2 about the refit Enterprise. The response was, they (RC2) were expecting the kits in their warehouse around the 12th of April and they would be in the stores about 2 weeks later. Let's just hope this was not a belated April fools joke. Party [party]

They have the following statement " This item will be in stock friday the 15th of April" I know things can change but it seems like this thing might really be here .Party [party]Party [party]Party [party]Party [party]Party [party]Party [party]Party [party]Party [party]

Any idea how much the price will be? I'm kitbashing a couple of AMT kits right now so I am in an Enterprise building mood. I just hope that my meager Jedi modeling skills can do it justice!LOLBig Smile [:D]

I stopped on my way home from work and preorded 1 (for now) from my LHS. His distributer was showing a price of $59.99 retail. Not too terrible considering I read it's about 34 inches long and the saucer section is about 16 inches around.Shock [:O]

Yeah, let's hope we Klingon fans get something amongst the usual barrage of goody-two-shoes Federation ships. Tongue [:P]
