I don't like gundams. I like robots like the mospeada bikes from Genesis Climber Mospeada, destroids from Macross, Votoms, and stuff like that. I think that giant brightly colored completely humanoid looking machines are sort of lame. Especially when overdone as much as gundams are.

But, I really like the Ball designs from gundam. Based on Arthur C. Clarkes space pods from 2001 A Space Odyssey, they look like something that could actually exist! I like that. Bare bones, completely simple, totally realistic.

I was extremely pleased when Bandai announced a Master Grade Ball a while back. I have since ordered one. But now, theres a NEW ball comming out! The orange custom one from 8th MS Team. These models are superbly done, and I cannot wait for them to come.

Even if you dont like Gundam, you have to love the Ball. What do you think? Do you like the RB-79 models? Are you going to pick one up?

Yes, I've got a Ball.

Great big Ball.

never mind.

Yes, picked one up at the local hobby shop. Looks great. Already working on a paint scheme and modificaions (bigger gun).

I knew Bandai would come out with the varient Balls. The guns are all on seperate sprues, so all you have to do is swap those out and a few other parts to get the different varients.

If I was a better modeler I'd want to try to give one of mine an authentic green Zeon with yellow insignias paint scheme.

Being that the Zeon are based on the Germans, it seems an easy conclusion that the Zeon must have pressed captured enemy units into combat, just as Germany pressed enemy tanks, no matter how obsolete, into combat during WWII. I think it would be awesome to see a Ball, all detailed up, in the usual different shades of green associated with Zakus, with the cool Zeon insignias on its sides. It'd be awesome.

Too bad I cant paint.

That looks like it would be a good start for you to get into scratchbuilding.

I kinda like Macross Veritechs more than Gundams myself. I was into Southern Cross body armor models too, but those are low quality kits... I have all of them including a Bioriod.

The Zeta Plus C1 is too awesome though... and Hardygun. Those two are like what an Armored Battroid should have been.

Just use a rattle can. Just don't glue the window in until last. Go down and pickm up a can of Model Master olive drab from the hobby shop or some olive drab from the hard ward store or Walmart. Gotta start some where anthese would make an easy subject to start one, though thy may not be cheap supjects.LOL
