Posted by Anonymous on Friday, April 15, 2005 7:17 AM
hey all
here are some pics of my 2nd build, a hasegawa astro boy figure. i figured i do this on as its pretty easy compared to tamiya car kits and it wouild give me a chance to work on my ab skills. i have only put the main body parts together, puttied them and readied them for primer, which im about to put on :)

will post more pics soon!

thanks for looking!
i painted a few light coats of a white paint on last nite, and when i inspected it i notice that some of the seams were visible, and i dont want anyshowing at all, so its back to sanding again, unfortunatley :( i was looking forward to starting to paint... since getting my airbrush painting isnt such a pain, i actually enjoy it now!!
i should have a few more pics in a few days, hopefully it shouldnt take to long to fix up.... the parts dont line up perfectly and surfaces dont line up. i found it hard to fill the difference with putty, so im gonna sand it smooth now

I have the same kits, but Medicom's action figures are the same size, so I bought them instead of building the kit. I have enough models to build ;).

ok ppls, ive done some work on him, namley fixing up any errors is the seams and sanding out, prming and painting all has gone pretty smoothly, ecept for a couple of hicccups ( i think the model was sdtill wet in places and the primer didnt stick to there and a couple of the seams aint perfect...oh well, no biggies...). with painting him tho, i havent got the colour right yet. the instructions call for gunze h44, which is too dark, too brown, while tamiya is to yellow and is kinda bright. i added some white to tamiya and sprayed him, at first it looked good, but after second inspection i still think its too yellow. ive taken some pics, but the colour doesnt look the same

the colourin the above 3 is toned down somewhat, its much more peachier close up
here are some pics comparing astro to box art. again, the colours came out washed out...

and here is a pic of astro himself, not sure what its from but it looks right...

im gonna mix some more white into the tamya flesh and test spray on some card first so i dont pout too many layers on him...
