A question of scale
Posted by jaysun on Saturday, April 23, 2005 5:04 AM
I saw a AT-AT at the local hobby shop today and I was wondering what is the usual scale for that kit. It didn't have anything on the box to indicate its size. I'm thinking brail scale but I'm not sure. I think it would be cool to make a dio out of one with figures but of course I can't do that w/o some sort of scale refference.

If it was the AMT kit it looks like it is unknown. I did play with the overall dimensions and it looked to me to be some where around 1:90th scale. That is however only a guess.

The Star Wars Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels lists the length of the AT-AT as 20 meters and the height "over 15 meters tall". Compare that length to the measurement for the built kit length (it's listed somewhere on the box or in the instructions) and you have your scale for the kit.
