My local shop is expecting the kit today. I've never wanted a kit as badly as this one. The motion picture versions of the enterprise -1701 and 1701 A - have always been and always will be my favorite ships. I enjoy all the ships and technology but that's the one for me.
From what i've seen this model looks beautiful. i will be picking up three of them. One will be built as TMP version. A second built as a later version. The third built hilighting the interior details available with the kit. All three will incorporate lighting. Hopefully there will be some aftermarket lighting available from DLM soon. if not i'll figure it out myself.DLM is just so much better at it.
This will be a year long project beginning once I complete my current project-scratchbuilt travel pod from TMP. I already recieved authorization from my wife to mount one of the finished lighted versions on the wall above the TV screen in our movie room. If i can work out the electronics correctly i'll hook it right into the wall switch. Then I can sit in my recliner, watch the Yankees win the World Series, and enjoy my favorite ship all in the same room. I now can die happy.
