Independence Day models
Posted by awan on Sunday, May 1, 2005 5:18 PM
Just saw that movie from 1996(?) INDEPENDENCE DAY. Gotta say that that was a really cool movie, remember when that alien mothership explodes in huge blue flash? i was like" whooooooooaaaaaaaaa, big 'splosion"......well, you get the point...Big Smile [:D]

So.....are there any models of the vehicles they use in that movie? i know of the F-18s, Harriers, and F-14s + other countrys' aircraft, but what about that cool thing (Alien Attacker) that Will Smith, and the other guys are riding in? I think ICONS makes one, but that one's worth like 1000 bucks right? (On Ebay) [:0]

Thanx

Lindbergh got the license to this film and released 4 kits
Alien Attacker - not bad
An Alien in his suit
A F-18 and a PT-17 Ryan.

They are long out of production but you see them offered for sale a lot.
Here is a build I found of the Alien Attacker.

Has anyone here ever built the ICONS Alien Attacker? or know someone who has? Exactly how much does it cost? i think the one on Ebay was on that was finished by a pro model builder.

Does anyone have any of the Lindbergh kits as spares or for a reasonable price? I can't seem to find them anywhere.

Thanx,

Anthony

just be patient and they will pop up on Ebay if you can't find one elsewhere... there are a few exoskeletons on their right now if I remember correctly.

Any idea how the Alien Exo kit is? And is it plastic?

(I'm always looking for non-human figure kits, don't have enough... )

I have no clue what the price is... go to the model section of Ebay and search for Indepedence Day. Yes it is a plastic model and be prepared for alot of putty work if you get it. It looks nice when built but it has some terrible fit problems
