[Tone of Reverence]Swwweeeeett...[/Tone of Reverence]

Gonna have to get at least two - one to display w/pods extended and one with pods retracted.

Here is that buildup finnished. It's great to actually finnish something for a change.

I printed out the name plates on white decal paper with a color field approximating the color of the model. I Then went back with paint and blended them in a little better. I am going to see about the dry transfers I like. I think they might be difficult for this model.

This was a blast after I got the pattern done.

Great work! The level of detail on your tiny Galactica is absolutely incredible considering the model's size.

What construction technique did you use to create the main hull/body shape?

Wow, Coby that is beautiful! You say there is a bigger battlestar in the works?

Sorry Coby.. I was only using the Monogram kit as a size reference. Nothing more..

Cheers

I'm thinking I would like to get a kit of the Galactica as well.

This is just a small prototype for a larger 1/2500th scale model. That one will be 22.565" long.

But I don't see the point in making an accurate Nu Galactica in scale with the abominable Monogram kit. There is nothing right on that kit at all. I have matching 1/2500th scale classic Galacitica in progress too. This one is about 28" long;

Coby, please for one minute dont think I am knocking what you have done.. Infact it is amazing that you have done what you have with the detail.. But for me, I would like to have one the same size as the original series Monogram kit, and have them sit side by side.. Thats probably the smallest I would want my replica.. But again, not a dig at you, I love it.. But just a little too small for my tastes... Keep up the great work!!.. I dribble into my beer everytime I look at your progress!

Here is where I am at right now. I was really hoping to have a casting ready for Wonderfest but I don't know if it will happen at this point. I took today off to work on it and wasn't quite able to get the engine armors to work. I really need to focus on them this weekend.

It's supposed to be 1/10,000. But I had to make it bigger because of the material thickness issue I had. By best guess is about 1/9500th.

I will be macking copies. But try to think of it as a maquete instead of a model. It has issues that bother me as a kit pattern.

The kit looks like it is about seven inches long. Using SciFi.com's ship data, that would make the scale approximately 1:8000. Am I in the ballpark?

That looks great! Three questions. How did you do the ribs? Is that a kit master? What scale is it?
