Hey did you strip the plating off of the front and back before painting the gray? If so what did you use? I tried sanding but what ever PL used its on there to stay. I do have to say though its not a bad looking representation of stainless steel.

I didn't strip the plating, I just painted over it. I did the gray first, then did the black lower-body trim after that. I used Floquil and Model Master enamel paints and they both seemed to stick pretty well. (Admittedly, I should have painted the rearview mirror housings black...)
I have to admit, I was a little sceptical of the plating at first, but once all the trim's painted and the time-machine details are installed, it looks pretty good. It's convincing from about three feet away, and that's just fine by me.
