decals and future
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, May 27, 2005 3:46 AM
I just recently completed my fine molds x-wing, had weathered it and given it a wash. I then went to seal the model with future to prevent the decals and weathering( I used chalks) from coming off. As it sat, the decals started to bubble up. Has anyone ever heard of future doing this?

I haven't heard of it before, but it doesn't surprise me that it happened. I put on a coat of Future *before* the decals go on. The Future provides a nice glossy surface to which the decals can adhere. After the decals dry, I seal the model with a couple of very light coats of clear flat paint. Did you apply the decals to a surface painted in flat colors? I learned the hard way that decals do not stick well on anything but glossy surfaces.

Hope this helps!
