Just looking at the huge box for the NX01 is enough to put me on a day long Trekkie high. I want a Defiant and a Delta Flyer.

One more 'yes' to the stack. Both kits require a lot of work and are detailed way beyond exisiting kits. Enjoy!

I would have to say YES!!!
I have both of them. I have already built the NX-01 for a client. I have been studying techniques on how to light these models for about 5yrs and that was the first one that I've completed (and it's not even for me!!).
If you have $100+ to invest in these kits, I would suggest you go for it. The sheer size of the kits alone is awesome. Just make sure you display space...

The 1/350th NX-01 and NCC-1701A kits are the two best sci-fi kits I have ever purchased. It's as if the Polar Lights kits are what we all wanted ERTL to be, though the later ERTL kits were much better. Still, compare the price to those of some 1/32 scale aircraft, and it might just seem reasonable.

I got the NX-01 when it first came out last year. I was somewhat taken a back from all the clear plastic. It was'nt the easiest build, I found the plastic to be quite soft, not what I'm used to from other manufacturers. I actually put the kit away for about 5 months, but I got back to it and had allot of fun in the end building it. Even lit it with LEDs.

If you are planing on painting the aztech scheme, have fun, I decided not to but did something close to it. And I weathered it, I would imagine it would get dirty in space after 10 years, lol.

I still have to place the deflector dish on the front, kinda lost it is somewhere.

Of course when the refit came out I bought it immediatly, thank god there was'nt as much clear plastic.

Now I can't wait for a Next Gen and TOS enterprise in the same scale!

Here are a couple pics of my NX-01, sorry the pics are bad quality.

It'll take me years to complete both, but in my opinion, yes they are... just based on the amount of styrene that went into each kit, they're worth it. On top of that, you have great craftsmanship and detail done by modelers who love the subject they're working on...

For the price, definately.

Some folk might fuss that some of the detail is a bit on the chunky side, but I don't think so.

I have the NX01 although I haven't started it yet, I am impressed with it! Worth the cost! Although, the stand can use some help though. I agree, it's not for the faint hearted as it's a MONSTER!!

Not a kit for the faint-hearted (which makes me wonder why I bought it!), and storage/display of the finished model is problemmatical because of its sheer size.

I've just discovered that the nacelle-pylon-to-hull joint is going to need a bit of work to eliminate gaps, but otherwise I'll stick by my comment re parts fit.

Can't comment on the NX-01 but I just purchased the 1701 kit and I'd have to say "Yes, it is".

There's a heck of a lot of plastic for your money and the quality and fit are excellent. I was concerned the parts, being so big, might display a high "warp-factor" but they're spot-on.

Have a look at threads elsewhere in the forum.

Was wondering if the 1/350 NX-1 and 1701 kits are worth the price?
