Clarifying the above, I scratchbuilt the original parts, mostly vacformed over resin or basswood plugs, and some parts cast from resin; the photos are of a kit buildup, so you're looking at a vacform model. There's a resin wing-support box inside the engines to which the lower halves of the wing are glued onto.
I drew up the blueprints from magazine photos and sketches in 1987 on a private contract for someone else, and carved a 1/48 scale basswood and spruce master for the same party, minus detail. Ten years ago I enlarged the plans and released a Phase I version of the MiG kit in late 2003. Decided to re-work everything to make the kit easier to assemble and also put more detail into it (pretty much like my Batura kit, I just keep improving on what has gone before).
