Allegedly, Ken Johnson - the original creator of "V" - delivered a first-draft script for a 4 hour remake to NBC on 25 April 2005. As of 5 June, there is no word on how the NBC staff feel about the draft or whether the project will go any further.

Yeah thats what I thought too but then I heard something last night that looked like its a go again. Who knows...I think they are just toying with our heads

It could be cool. I liked the history on that one. Although the end is way too alike to the old War of the worlds movie (hope the new one turns out good).

I spoke with Marc Singer from the original series. He said he's been talking to NBC and it's a go. Apparently, it's not a remake, it's more of an update. It's twenty years later, and they're still here.

I don't know. The original 'V' miniseries was running on the premise of a modern day Nazi-like movement. Ken Johnson had said to get people to buy this in a contemporary setting, he used aliens for the Nazis (remember the "Vistor Youth" organization?). It worked well for the first mini-series but the second felt like it was done to meet an obligation that the fans wanted an actual ending. One where the humans win, of course. Then the TV series was another obligation to do because the ratings looked good enough to warrant one. By that time the original premise was gone and I could not get into it at all.

I would have prefered a re-make over another update.

I would prefer a remake as well so long as they keep the origianl ship designs... they were original and great. With todays effects it be awsome or terrible. long as they dont turn the Visitors in cheesy CG puppets. If they rely on real makeup and CG for only using special "lizard stunts" like their forked tongue licking or some such it could work. It's funny this subject came up because i was just thinking the other day about the scene where the Vistor Commander Chic killed the Priest. She said that the Bible made her feel inferior or some such and she shot him. There was deeep writing in this show...

I liked the mini-series but I always thought the regular series was on the cheesy side. If they do as good a remake as Sci-Fi did with BSG, it could be an excellent show.
